Our tasting bar is currently OPEN Monday - Saturday 11-6pm and Sunday 11-5pm. You can also order our wine online and Starting November 5th try our fabulous new Vintner’s Picnic. Great for sharing indoors by the fire or, for the more adventuresome, trek down into the vineyard for a true winter picnic experience! All the favourites from our plate beautifully packed into a reusable Coffin Ridge bag.
Overlooking the crystal blue water of Georgian Bay, in the shadow of the Niagara Escarpment sits Grey County's first winery, Coffin Ridge. A boutique winery by design, Coffin Ridge produces high quality, small batch wine made primarily from grapes grown from hand planted, hand picked Grey County grapes. Coffin Ridge's three signature wines: Into The Light White, Back From The Dead Red and Resurrection Rose express the Grey County terroir exquisitely.
Start your day at Coffin Ridge with a wine tasting led by our knowledgeable staff. From there you can retreat to the deck for a glass of wine and our vintner's plate made up of local artisanal breads and cheeses which have been specifically paired with the glass of wine you are drinking. Our 2011 Into The Light white is now available in most of our local LCBO outlets. This is our most popular wine at the winery, so we though it would be nice to share it with a wider audience. Enjoy and thanks for the support. Check the lcbo website for specific store stock http://www.lcbo.com/
We recently won two Double Gold / Best in Categories at the 2012 All Canadian Wine Championships. The winning wines were our 2011 l'Acadie Blanc, the only varietal l'Acadie produced in ontario and our 2010 Marquette. We invite you to come and taste these exceptional wines, which are 100% Grey County grown, at our tasting bar. Congratulations to our winemaker, Steve Byfield for crafting these wonderful wines they truly show a 'sense of place'.
This past weekend we released our 2010 Marquette to rave reviews. We are so proud of this wine, we know we have found the new standard cold climate red grape variety. We invite you to come and taste this revolutionary wine at our tasting bar, or simply order it online We only produced 250 cases of our '10 vintage, so supplies will not last long.
We are pleased to announce that we won three medals at the Finger Lakes International Wine Competition. SILVER for our 2009 Marquette, SILVER for our 2009 Marechal Foch and BRONZE for our 2010 Riesling Bone Dry. All of these wines are available at our tasting bar.
We will be delivering our 2009 Riesling Bone Dry to the Owen Sound LCBO tomorrow Thursday February 17th. It will probably be out on shelves the next day. Unfortunately our in store tasting got cancelled due to a scheduling conflict, but we are working on rescheduling. Steven Blender is quite a knowledgeable product consultant there and he can answer any of your questions. Our 2010 vintage will be out very soon in the rest of the stores.
